- 02A shell scheme booth is a basic pre-built stand supplied by the event organiser, while a custom-built booth is designed and built from scratch around your brand. Display Asia builds both modular and custom booths for exhibitions in Kuala Lumpur and across Malaysia.Main booth options in Malaysia:Shell scheme: white walls, a name board, spotlights, one power point and carpet. Fastest and cheapest, and suits first-time exhibitors.Custom-built (space only): you rent bare floor space and control the structure, height, lighting, storage and meeting areas.Modular system: works for any booth size, and is usually the better choice for smaller spaces, giving strong visual impact at a lower cost. The best option depends on your booth size, budget and brand goals. Items from the event organiser or venue are charged separately.Costs usually not included in a booth quote:Floor space rental paid to the organiserOrganiser administration and exhibitor feesElectrical supply and connectionRigging and overhead hangingInternet and telecomsFurniture and AV hireLate-order charges from the organiser for items booked at the venue instead of in advanceOvertime labour if setup runs past scheduled hoursFirst-time exhibitors in Malaysia often budget only for the booth itself. Depending on the design, it can sometimes be done faster.Recommended booking time:Modular or portable booth: at least 1 month before the showCustom-built booth: 2 to 3 months before the showBooking late usually means fewer options and a tighter schedule. Confirm your floor space with the organiser first, then brief your contractor in the same week.
